One night stays are accepted within 4 days of your arrival date. Please call to make this reservation because they are NOT bookable online.

One-Night-Stay Weekday Policy

One night stays are accepted Mon-Thurs anytime. These are also bookable online.

Check in: 3pm or after by appointment
Check out: by noon

1st night's deposit (including tax) is required to secure your reservation by credit card. Room rates are based on single or double occupancy. Additional persons are $15/night. Two-night weekend & holiday minimum unless it is within 4 days from your reservation date and we have availability.

Two-night minimum stay is required for 3 of our 5 rooms on Saturday night ONLY [unless it is within 4 days from your reservation date and we have availability]. This can be Friday/Saturday or a Saturday/Sunday stay. All minimum stays must be in the same room. One night stays are available in ALL ROOMS on Friday, Sunday and weekdays.

Out of consideration to all of our guests we ask that you check with us before bringing guests back to visit. We do host small special occasion gatherings in our dining or gathering room @ $50/hr. (Click Here for Meeting & Event Rooms) Please call to set this up with Cheri along with any food service items you may need.

Prairieside Suites is an adult-oriented bed and breakfast. However, children are also welcome, by special arrangement.

Smoking is allowed outside only; there is an ash tray by the backdoor (in the window sill). We do not allow smoking in our home or in our guests suites. Because it's important to keep an allergy-free environment, we cannot accept additional pets. Guests ignoring either of these policies will be asked to leave immediately and will be charged for the entire reservation plus an additional $200 room-cleaning fee.

We ask that you exercise extreme care when burning candles purchased from our gift area.

DO NOT bring your own candles to burn. We are concerned about smoke damage from use of poor quality candles. We request that you purchase candles from our gift area.
Keep the glass flues in place for safety
DO NOT move the candle holders from original location
DO NOT sleep with candles burning
You will be charged for any candle wax damage from improper use of candles or scorched surfaces

Traveling with children?

At Prairieside Suites we have the following suggestions:

OPTION 1: Get a Room with a Comfy Couch.
The Tuscan Villa has a couch that could accommodate one child [adds $15.00 to room charge].
OPTION 2: Get our Rooms with an Adjoining Interior Door!
It also has an adjoining interior door than can be [locked or unlocked] with the English Cottage. So if you book both the “Tuscan Villa & English Cottage” suites then the children could be next to you [they will share a king size bed] and you will have two bathrooms, TV’s, etc. So you would have the privacy of having two complete bedroom suites together on the North end of the house.

OPTION 3: Choose the Southern Mansion Family Suite! [Call to Book]
Right next to the “Southern Mansion” suite is another separate bedroom with a twin daybed and trundle [you have two twin beds for sleeping]. The “Southern Mansion Family Suite” gives you the privacy of having two separate bedrooms for sleeping [on the South end of the house] but the kids would be watching TV in your room and using your bathroom. Choosing the “Southern Mansion Family Suite” adds $69.00 per night to the price of the “Southern Mansion”. This room can also be a great “Girlfriends Get Away” suite, remember we are only 3 minutes from the largest regional mall in Michigan, so plan a “shop till you drop” weekend!

Traveling with a baby?

Let us keep you from hauling half your house with you. We can add “The Baby Package” to our Southern Mansion which located by itself on the South end of the B&B. There is a one time set-up charge of $49.00.

"The Baby Package" includes setting up all your baby needs with the following:

A Pack 'n Play
Travel Swing
Changing Pad
Baby Monitor

You may still use the “Southern Mansion Family Suite” [see above for details] so the baby can sleep in a separate bedroom which gives you the privacy to whirlpool and watch TV without disturbing your little one. Both rooms are located side by side on the South end of the house. If you’re wondering…hey in OPTION #3 above, the Family Suite cost $69 per night and now it’s only a one-time fee of $49? That's right - we have discounted the price because you won’t be needing or using the twin beds that are in there.

Traveling with a baby + 1-2 older children?

Combine OPTION #3 + "The Baby Package," providing everything ready for you upon arrival.

Cancellation Policy for Guest Rooms:

Your payments, minus a $20 processing fee, are credited toward your next stay if cancellation is received 10 days prior to your arrival for guest rooms. E-mail your new arrival date to cheri@prairieside.com (Special note: we do not accept phone calls because we need a valid paper trail). Your new reservation must be for the same duration as your original reservation. If you cannot give us a new arrival date, we’ll credit your payments onto a “Prairieside Gift Certificate” for future use.

If your cancellation is received less than 10 days before your arrival, you are responsible for all room charges unless the room can be re-rented for the entire reservation. No-shows are charged for full reservation. No refunds for reservations or early departure.

Concerned about Cancelling?

When you book online you have the option to include travel insurance to protect you in case it becomes necessary to cancel at the last minute. It is our intention to make your stay a memorable one and these terms are necessary for the successful management of our small inn, devoted to you, our guests.

Cancellation Policy for Meeting Rooms/Parties/Events:

Your deposit minus a $50 processing fee is credited toward your next event or stay if cancellation is received 30 days prior to your arrival. If your reservation for your meeting/party or event is cancelled less than 30 days prior to your arrival you will forfeit the meeting room deposit. Any guest suites that are reserved with your meeting/party or event will be handled in accordance with our stated policy above.

The cookies, the great surprise food, and our romantic suite were just what the doctor ordered. We have enjoyed the every detail that you have worked so wonderfully into a B&B style.
